Traditional Wargames meet Card-Driven Games in The Pacific!

Empire of the Sun is a strategic-level game encompassing the Pacific War 1941-45 from Pearl Harbour to the possible invasion of the Japanese mainland.
It’s designed by Mark Herman who introduced card-driven games (CDGs) to the hobby.
But what sets it apart is that it’s the first game to move the CDG system closer to the classic hexagon wargame and contains elements of both genres to create an epic struggle.
The action ranges from northern Australia and New Guinea in the south to China and India in the north. HQ units play a vital role in the game creating lines of supply and activation ranges for the series of offensives that both players will conduct.
Special rules cover everything from the impact of the war in Europe and submarine warfare to inter-service rivalry and strategic movement.
It’s a big game but the rules allow for scenarios with victory conditions for games that only last a single year.
