Game Stack Featured on Radio 4
Game Stack owner Bill Skirrow was interviewed on Radio 4’s “Word of Mouth” programme which aired on Boxing Day at 4.00pm and is available online via the Radio 4 section of www.bbc.co.uk.
Presented by Michael Rosen, Word of Mouth ventures down the highways and byways of the English language and vocabulary.
Fittingly for Boxing Day afternoon, this edition looked at the language and vernacular of board games. Michael Rosen is introduced to concepts such as “German-style” games, “Gateway” games and “geomorphic gameboards”.
The interview was to be constructed around a virtual game of Settlers of Catan but BBC lawyers intervened and objected on the grounds that the BBC must not be seen to promote any particular product.
