In “Michelangelo” you play an apprentice to the great master Michelangelo, trying to work your way to the top of the political and social ladder—currying favor with the great families of Italy that commission his work.

Michelangelo won’t be around forever, and you need to ensure your own job security working as an artist after he is gone. You must carefully position yourself by garnering the approval of those in power and by showing off your own artistic talents in the many projects in progress at any given time in Michelangelo’s workshop. But be careful, for the winds of fortune change often, and the family in power today may be in rags tomorrow. A true artist is prepared for anything and everything!

In “Michelangelo” you strive to get credit (even when it isn’t due), delay the projects of your rivals, and even buy your way to power. With separate tracks for players scores and family scores, there are ample opportunities for negotiation, diplomacy, and intrigue. Fame, money, power…can you seize it all as you rise to the top of the families of Renaissance Italy?
