A great game which can played without too much serious thought if time doesn’t permit. My main reservation is that if you are dealt a ‘poor hand’ initially, it is difficult to make meaningful/strategic opening moves rather than arbitrary ones. That said, it’s usually a nail-biting race to the end …
Lost Cities is a game of exploring ancient ruins developed by Reiner Knizia
In this fast-moving two-player card game, the object is to mount profitable expeditions to one or more of the five different lost cities.
Each turn, players simply play or discard one card, then draw one card. Players attempt to wait as long as possible to play high cards for themselves and hold cards that their opponents want.
The more progress you make in a chosen expedition, the more points you’ll make. After three rounds, the player with the highest total score will be the winner.
