The heart of the game is the rule that makes you add cards from your hand to the speed pool in order to build up speed. With fewer cards in hand, you are less able to deal with other chariots and the track hazards ahead of you.
There’s a nice touch in the individual abilities of the chariots: some speed up or slow down more quickly, others take more damage before crashing, and others allow you to play multiple cards when attacking other racers.
Lots of interaction in a light, somewhat chaotic game, best with three or more players.
