Most great games have an abstract rules set with a theme and then throw a little colour at it. This game throws out any facade of realism by giving a patchwork quilt for a board and having objectives which are quite abstract.

Like Settlers of Catan or Carcassonne, its rules are simple, but involve an exciting and addictive gameplay. Like the other games of this creator it can be taught to non-gamers and provide an evening’s fun fairly quickly.

All I can say is that when my friends come over, this is the game that is most often requested. While I was playing and enjoying this game over the holidays, several more classic “Award Winners” were gathering dust on the shelf.
